Smart glasses to support Out-of-hospital Emergency Medicine in Alpine areas
The project wants to introduce and use the Augmented Reality (AR) glasses in order to improve out-of-hospital emergency and emergency medicine interventions (even milder interventions) in the remote Alpine areas, reducing the burden on central hospitals and, at the same time, increasing services in peripheral rural areas of the Alps.
The project will evaluate the AR glasses to support health and mountain rescue workers, during their daily activies in remote villages and also during in high-mountain interventions.
The project will study the effectiveness of the use of AR glasses in the above mentioned cases and the definition of guidelines for health and mountain rescue workers. The project aims to reduce territorial imbalances and mitigate adverse social and environmental impacts.

We would like to join the consortium. We are a research institute embedded in an charitable organisation offering ambulance services and disaster aid, with extensive experience with VR, AR and MR trainings for paramedics and other emergency personnel. May I ask how far along the proposal is, and if it would be possible to have a meeting?

Could this project benefit from a perspective on innovation resistance, where despite objective benefits stakeholders reject the adoption or use of a technology?
