AgriDivers
This project aims to promote innovative circular economy models among farmers in the Alpine region through targeted pilot initiatives focusing on bio-residue mineral recovery, insect farming, biocoal farming, and similar concepts. Despite growing interest in circular solutions, the agricultural sector remains cautious in adopting new business models—yet many of these emerging innovations are designed specifically for agriculture and seek mainstream integration into farming practices. This gap presents a valuable opportunity: early pilot projects can act as catalysts, triggering broader uptake across the sector.
To support this transition, regional agricultural stakeholders—particularly farmers—will first be engaged through capacity-building workshops introducing market-ready circular economy concepts. Based on interest and suitability, pilot sites will then be selected and guided by the project consortium, which will oversee implementation. The number and duration of the pilots will vary by use case (from 6 months to a year).
Following the pilot phase, the consortium will consolidate the results into a lessons-learned report, highlighting regional nuances and providing tailored guidelines for each tested solution. These materials aim to support replication and scaling by other entities.
