The LBV is Bavarias oldest NGO for natureconservation, with more thean 120.000 members and about 200 employes. Driven by our fascination for birds and nature, we have achieved much in recent years that has made Bavaria’s nature a bit better. Always based on scientific data, we have protected biodiversity in Bavaria together with many people. The successes are visible. However, the twin crises of species extinction and climate change are still not being adequately addressed. Society must continue to change to achieve the United Nations’ sustainability goals and to preserve and develop Bavaria’s nature for future generations. We at LBV want to contribute to this. Therefore, we are pooling our limited resources into seven priorities for 2025: agriculture, species protection, protected areas, climate protection, environmental education, urban nature, and the Alps. Our work is supported by the many people who are involved in LBV, whether voluntarily with their time, financially, by promoting LBV’s concerns, or as employees. We have developed the priorities for 2025 through a democratic participation process across all levels of the association.
