About

Fondation Grand Paradis was created to promote the natural and cultural peculiarities of the Valle d’Aosta side of the Gran Paradiso National Park’s territory.
The three valleys of Gran Paradiso have an exceptional heritage, which stretches over a vast territory of high mountains, from the bottom of the valley to 4,061 meters of the summit of Gran Paradiso. It is a unique and protected environment since 1922, the year of the establishment of the first Italian National Park.
It is an environment with a rich and varied fauna and flora, which Fondation Grand Paradis wants to make known and teach to respect through the visitor centers of the Gran Paradiso National Park, places of information and in-depth on the protected area, and the Paradisia Alpine Botanical Garden.
It is also a territory characterized by culture and ancient traditions. Medieval castles and traditional rural dwellings, places steeped in local culture and history, to be enhanced through ecomuseums, exhibition centres, guided tours and educational workshops. The aim is to develop a new sensitivity towards nature and revive local culture by creating temporary exhibitions and themed events throughout the year.
Fondation Grand Paradis brings together and represents the various stakeholders of the three valleys, the Aosta Valley Autonomous Region, the Gran Paradiso National Park Authority, the municipalities and the Mountain Community, with a view to creating an integrated natural and cultural offer in the territory.
