Good morning,
We are a local development consulting company consisting of 12 Italian philanthropic foundations. We are supporting an aggregation of 11 small municipalities (Codroipo, Basiliano, Talmassons, Castions Di Strada, Lestizza, Mortegliano, Varmo, Bertiolo, Camino Al Tagliamento, Sedegliano, Mereto Di Tomba) located in an inner area of Friuli Venezia Giulia (North East of Italy). The area is crossed by the Tagliamento River, the largest natural river in Europe, by numerous natural areas (SIC, ZPS) and in the area there are valuable elements of protohistory and the latest art (frescoes, architecture, Villa Manin which was the last residence of the Venetian Doges).
In the area there are also various typical local products that, however, without a large city that acts as a driving force or a strong identity identification, struggle to promote and enhance themselves. We are talking, for example, about excellent white wines and red wines, cheeses, flour and corn from polenta, vegetables (asparagus), the Frico (a typical product made of cheese and potatoes), salami.
The area, also thanks to some regional contributions, has developed some projects: the construction of DES – District of Solidarity Economy (DES – District of Solidarity Economy); the creation of a Trade District, to support local shops (https://www.terradiacque.fvg.it/); participation in the project “Wine and Taste Route) of the Region.
A recent “Local Action Plan” promoted by the 11 municipalities has also focused on the need, both for tourism and economic and social recovery, to enhance more wine and gastronomy products and the many quality realities that are in the area.
