I am a professor in Ecology and co-founder of Alpstream, a research centre on Alpine rivers based in Ostana, NW Italy (Parco del Monviso)
Our research interests are in aquatic ecology and bioindicators (diatoms, macroinvertebrates and fish). We conducted several studies on local (e.g. nutrient enrichment, siltation) and global impacts (hydrological disturbances and climate changes). We would like to participate in a project aiming at connecting Alpine research centres focused on research and educational activities on biodiversity conservation in Alpine environments. Possible keywords can be Alpine Summer Schools, citizen science, LTER sites, methods intercalibration, stream restoration.
