About

INUK Institute (INUK Institute for Advanced Communication Management, Maribor) is a non-profit research organization, founded in 2012 in order to research and accelerate the development of business communication models and strategies that are based on the principle of shared value creation. Business must reconnect a company’s success with social progress in order to be successful in the future. At the Institute we strongly believe in the concept of shared value, which involves creating economic value (CSV) in a way that also creates value for society by addressing its needs and challenges.
Thus, the Institute contributes to social innovation and the development of shared value principles in Slovenia and abroad through a) research and innovation, b) collaborative local, national and international projects, c) education and training, d) consultancy, and e) promotion and networking across diverse stakeholders and disciplines. We promote new ways of business thinking, learning, teaching and active citizenship, with emphasis on social inclusion, participatory practices, co-creation, co-innovation, crowdsourcing, open innovation and other engagement models and strategies. The Institute is led by a Managing Director and Expert Board, which is constituted of consultants, who through their experience guide the implementation of the Institute’s programs and activities.
Through variously skilled staff, INUK has become an experienced and valued international partner in EU projects, dedicated to different socio-economic areas, answering needs of different target groups, such as vulnerable groups (disabled people, children with special needs, youth, elderly, long-term unemployed); local authorities and diverse city agents (e.g. urban planners, designers, architects); tourism agents; cultural heritage agents; digital tools and digital content designers; employers and entrepreneurs; educators at all levels of education and training etc.
One of INUK’s core pillars is attention to disability inclusion. INUK’s staff has professional and academic background in disability inclusive cities, inclusive and accessible cultural heritage, accessible tourism, digital accessibility, inclusive employment, education etc. It also provides training in digital accessibility and disability inclusion. Thus, INUK constantly seeks ways to respond to a complex set of needs of people with diverse impairments, be it physical, sensory or cognitive impairments.
