About

Our research focuses on innovative building materials, systems, and methods that support circular construction by integrating Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) into early design phases. We aim to reduce environmental impacts across the entire building life cycle—from material production to end-of-life—through strategies such as minimizing embodied carbon, optimizing resource use, and designing for reuse.

We explore locally available natural materials like wood and clay, which are renewable, biodegradable, and low in transport emissions. Prefabricated, adaptable systems and flexible building typologies are central to our approach, as they extend building lifespans, enable disassembly and reuse, and reduce waste and construction time—key levers in advancing a circular built environment.
