The City of Venice acts at both the local and EU levels to promote the sustainable socio-economic development of the territory and its community. It is the authority responsible for delivering major public and social services for citizens and developing policies and plans in many strategic sectors, including promoting and implementing the city’s welfare system. The City of Venice also has extensive experience participating in and managing EU co-financed projects. Since 2000, it has been involved in more than 160 EU projects, both as LP and PP.
Developing skills for smart specialisation, industrial transition and entrepreneurship, we are especially interested in initiatives focusing on agri-food and food safety, sustainable tourism development, industrial and creative production, and the broader creative and cultural economy. We can build on the preliminary results of the TESTEAT project, Enhance enogasTronomy hEritage to eSTablish and Expand sustainAble Tourism. The City of Venice also has experience working with local partners that drive digital transformation, like Ca’Foscari University.
